Plettenberg Bay House
The four-bedroom home is set on a ridge overlooking a golf course in an exclusive Plettenberg Bay residential estate. The house is nestled into the hillside, with all rooms overlooking the valley below. A large open-plan living, dining and kitchen area is located on the lower level and roofed over with an indigenous landscaped garden which is overlooked by bedrooms on the upper floor. A wide entrance passage and staircase forms a strong arrival axis offering direct views of the golf course and pool from the entrance lobby. .

Our project at the Coot Club near Stanford is progressing well. The four lagoon-side dwelling units for part of a lifestyle development that is set within a private nature reserve along the shores of the Klein River Lagoon, near Stanford. Inspiration for the architecture is derived from the corrugated iron boat sheds found in the area, with particular reference to scale, form and the simplicity of materials. The Coot Club development will comprise of new accommodation units and the refurbishment of existing farm buildings on the site. Completion is expected in June this year,

Kritzinger Architects are delighted to have won a competition to design a new four bedroom home in Higgovale, Cape Town. The site is magnificent and blessed with a number of natural features such as large mature trees and rock formations which informed the design proposal. The aim of the design is to create a "pavilion" building set in the heart of a lush garden with North facing ocean views and South facing garden views. A pallet of natural materials such as timber, stone and raw concrete have been selected to complement the wooded character of the site.

Our practice has completed a new double dwelling in Oudekraal, Camps Bay, Cape Town for an Italian developer. Both units were sold this month to a European couple. They are delighted with the outcome of the project are now in the process of furnishing their new home!

Four sites at the Coot Club were handed over to the main contractor this month to begin work on the construction of four lagoon-side dwelling units set within a 464Ha private nature reserve near Stanford in the Western Cape. Kritzinger Architects have been appointed as Principal Agents to lead the Coot Club development which will comprise of new accommodation units, refurbishment of existing farm buildings and a new pool precinct.

Kritzinger Architects have begun concept design proposals for a new housing development in Higgovale, Cape Town. The development will comprise of 6 new town house units and the refurbishment of an old historic building.

Kritzinger Architects have handed over the recently completed 3 unit apartment building in Fresnaye, Cape Town with the first tenants moving in over December. The project entailed the complete refurbishment of an old existing building. The facades were re-proportioned and simplified to form a coherent whole and the interior completely gutted and reconfigured into a two story penthouse on the upper two floors, and three bedroom apartments on both the middle and ground floor levels.

We are delighted to have received planning permission for a lifestyle development set in a private reserve along the shores of the Klein River Lagoon, near Stanford. Inspiration for the architecture is derived from the corrugated iron boat sheds found in the area, with particular reference to scale, form and the simplicity of materials.

Kritzinger Architects are delighted to have been appointed to design a new home for a young family on a large plot in Sweet Valley, Cape Town. Concept design is underway, The intent is to break down the massing and scale of the proposed building form by designing a collection of pitched roof buildings that are held together by connecting flat roof terrace and walkway elements.

Practical Completion has been achieved on a new apartment building in Fresnaye, Cape Town. Handover is programmed for end of October 2021.

Kritzinger Architects have completed a painting for a repeat client who owns a beach cottage completed by the practice a few years ago. The painting aims to capture the spirit of fisherman cottages scattered along the West Coast where the beach cottage is located.

Kritzinger Architects have designed a modular cabin for Mobile Maisonette. The modular units are designed to be pre-fabricated off-site and are easily transported by trailer or 4 X 4 to remote destinations. The units can be customised to suit individual needs and can function independently off-grid if required.

Kritzinger Architects have recently completed the transformation of Langebaan's oldest beach cottage located on the waters edge of the Langebaan Lagoon.

The conversion of a single residential dwelling into a three unit apartment building in Fresnaye, Cape Town is nearly complete with site handover expected in August this year.

Drawings have been submitted for the approval of a new lifestyle development on waters edge along the Klein Rivier near Hermanus. The development which has been approved by Heritage Western Cape will comprise of a club house and several accommodation units.

A new family home in Somerset West, Cape Town is nearing completion. Completion is expected end April 2021.

Our latest project of two villas in Camps Bay, Cape Town is progressing well. Earthworks and lateral support walls are complete and Ground Floor foundations are being cast.

A four bedroom home in Somerset West, Western Cape is currently under construction. The site is located on the upper slopes of Somerset West, offering spectacular views over False bay. .

October 2020
A new home designed by Kritzinger Architects in Higgovale, Cape Town is nearing completion. Landscaping by Franchesca Watson is currently underway. Large granite stone boulders terrace below the 4m cantileverd slabs. The terraces will be planted with succulents and indigenous planting.

Groundwork has started on a steep site in Camps Bay, Cape Town. Kritzinger Architects have designed two unique villas for the site which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and Lions Head.

A beach cottage designed by Kritzinger Architects is featured on the cover of the July-August 2020 issue of ELLE Decoration France. The cottage is located in a small historic hamlet on the shores of the Langebaan Lagoon. The existing dwelling was refurbished and re-imagined to offer a "fresh" contemporary take on traditional fisherman cottages in the area.

Kritzinger Architects have completed a concept design for a new beachfront villa in Panama. Set within a lush tropical setting, the design features a main dwelling and three casitas. All existing trees have been retained.
