Building plans have been submitted to the City of Cape Town for a new rooftop conversion to an existing dwelling in Llandudno. The form of the building is designed in response to the City's Overlay Zone which restricts the height of the building to 8m above natural ground level, resulting in a new extension that maximises the permissible height and footprint of the site. The self-contained living unit will comprise of a large open-plan living area, dining and kitchenette area with a master en-suite bedroom. The front sea facing elevation is fully glazed and leads onto a large deck, while the rear street elevation offers both low level privacy, indirect natural light and high level views of the dramatic Twelve Apostle Mountain range.
