Kritzinger Architects won a competition to design a double dwelling on a vacant site in Camps Bay, Cape Town. The design comprises of two contemporary villas located in an upmarket residential enclave between the Atlantic Ocean and Table Mountain. The design takes full advantage of what the site has to offer, with an emphasis on ocean views, while at the same time creating a serene, private world for each villa that is enhanced by the feeling of "living in nature" through the creation of courtyard gardens, terraced landscaping and green roofs covered with indigenous planting. Large sliding doors are fitted to both sides of the living area, allowing uninterrupted views through the building while at the same time maximising the opportunity for indoor-outdoor living. The project has been submitted for Local Authority approval. Construction is programmed to start mid 2020.
